Games:Exeter is an extension of the concepts introduced in Toroid Wars. Again working on the principle that the best way to learn is to do, and the best way to do is to be interested in the subject matter. The competitors are, once again, asked to create an AI player for a game. However the players do not play against each other but increasing in number successive waves of computer controlled enemies. Scoring is based on how many waves are defeated and how much health is left after each wave.
This time the competition has been expanded beyond the University of Exeter into a national competition in which the highest scores are posted after running the tournament each night.
